“The Stirring Season: When God Mixes What We Thought Was Settled”

Date: September 8, 2025
Theme: Divine Disruption and Spiritual Readiness
Scripture: “For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.” — Philippians 2:13

There are seasons when life feels like a slow simmer—predictable, steady, even comforting. But then comes the stirring.

God, the Master Chef, reaches into the pot of our lives and begins to mix what we thought was settled. Relationships shift. Plans unravel. Ministries stretch. And we wonder: Why now? Why this?

But stirring isn’t punishment—it’s preparation. In cooking, stirring prevents burning. It redistributes flavor. It activates ingredients that would otherwise settle and separate. Spiritually, God stirs us to awaken dormant gifts, to realign our focus, and to keep us from becoming spiritually stagnant.

This week, I felt the Lord stirring me again. Not with chaos, but with clarity. A nudge to revisit old notes. A whisper to reach out to someone I hadn’t spoken to in years. A reminder that legacy isn’t built in silence—it’s stirred into motion.

So if you feel unsettled today, don’t resist the spoon. Let God mix the grace, the grit, and the growth. He’s not ruining the recipe—He’s refining it.

Reflection Questions:

  • What area of your life feels “stirred” right now?
  • Is God activating something you’ve let settle?
  • How can you respond with faith instead of frustration?

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for stirring me when I grow too comfortable. Mix my life with Your purpose. Keep me from settling in places You’ve called me to move. Let every disruption become a doorway to deeper trust. Amen.
