Our Prayers, Our Opportunities

We often ask God to change us, to bless us, to draw us closer. But rarely do we expect the answer to come wrapped in opportunity.

Ask God for patience? He may not zap you with serenity. He may place you in a slow line, a tense meeting, or a moment where your first instinct is to react.
Ask for a deeper relationship? He may not flood you with warm fuzzies. He may give you a chance to forgive, to listen, to love when it’s inconvenient.
Ask for courage? He may not remove the fear. He may lead you into a situation where you must choose faith over comfort.

God doesn’t just hand us traits—He invites us to practice them. He answers prayers with process. With people. With places where His image can be reflected through our response.

Opportunity is the workshop of transformation.
Every answered prayer is a doorway. Not always easy, not always obvious—but always holy.

The Fruit Is Seen When We Are Seen

The fruit of the Spirit isn’t grown in isolation.
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—these are not private trophies. They are public testimonies.

The fruit is only seen when we are seen.
When someone cuts us off, and we respond with peace.
When someone wounds us, and we choose gentleness.
When the world rushes, and we remain faithful.
The fruit is revealed in the tension, in the test, in the moment we could choose otherwise.

God doesn’t just want us to bear fruit—He wants it to be visible. Not for applause, but for witness. Not for ego, but for legacy.

Legacy in the Living

As my mother used to say, “God doesn’t just give you what you ask for—He gives you what will grow you.”
And growth often comes dressed in discomfort.
But that’s where the Spirit shines. That’s where the reflection becomes clear.

So today, if you find yourself in a moment that tests your prayer—don’t run.
Lean in.
It may be the very answer you asked for.
